How often do I have to go to the dentist?

In general, we recommend regular checkups every 6 months. However, intervals vary from case to case. When you come in, your dentist will tell you which checkup period is best for you, as it can range from once a year to four times a year.

Of course. We do our best to accommodate all emergency appointments, however, they are subject to availability. Please contact our clinic and the team will find a time to help you.

Fillings repair small cavities that may be limited to tooth enamel or may extend into the dentin. If these cavities are not filled, the tooth will decay further. It is then, when the cavity is deeper, that you will begin to feel pain and may eventually require a root canal treatment, which is much more significant. By this we mean that, although you may not feel pain at the moment, it is best to repair these cavities as soon as possible. However, we invite you to come see us and we will give you a more thorough assessment, since, nowadays, very superficial enamel lesions can be remineralized without a filling.

No. Orthodontics for adults is becoming an increasingly common procedure. If you'd like, we can discuss the different options available for your particular case.

Veneers and crowns are similar restorations, but they differ in the areas of the teeth they cover. A veneer is a very thin shell bonded to the front of the tooth, while a crown covers the entire tooth. You may need a crown due to the amount of natural tooth loss or discoloration. An assessment for this treatment should be performed by a dentist, so make an appointment if you'd like advice.

Do not use the whitening treatment if you are pregnant. There have been no reports of adverse reactions, but the long-term clinical effects are unknown. You can do it after a few months; your health and that of your baby come first.

We can arrange a financing plan for you. Our reception team will explain all the options we offer and the documentation we'll need to process your application.

What does the first visit consist of?

During your first visit, your general and oral health will be assessed. A complete orofacial examination will be performed, in addition to addressing any specific needs you may have at that time—your reason for the visit. Photographs of your teeth will be taken to better show you what you may need and as a record for monitoring them. In other words, having the photographs allows us to compare them over time (months or years) and see what changes have occurred. Any necessary radiological tests will also be taken; however, if you have any recent ones, please bring them with you. With all this information, your diagnosis, the causes, and how to prevent their worsening will be explained. You will be given instructions on oral hygiene and how to care for your health at home. Finally, treatment options will be discussed with you, with the pros and cons explained and any questions answered. The first day, depending on the case, can be very information-intensive. But don't worry, after a few days of reflection at home, we will be happy to answer any questions or clarify anything you may have.

We understand that some people struggle with the fear of dental treatment, so we have many ways to help you feel comfortable with us. Just tell us when you arrive at the clinic that you have a dental phobia, explain how you feel and what worries you most (sounds, tastes, smells, needles, the chair, the whole deal), and then we can work together to decide the right approach for you. There's no rush; the important thing is to overcome your phobia so that, over time, you can come visit us without worrying from the day before.

Sometimes you may experience tooth sensitivity after a filling, but this usually goes away fairly quickly. If you still experience sensitivity after several days, come see us.

After orthodontic treatment, your teeth are not in their final or fixed position. Your teeth may slowly begin to return to a position similar to their previous position, so wearing retainers at night is recommended to keep them in the desired position.

Whitening can be an important part of a smile makeover. We always verify the suitability of your teeth, as it may not be recommended if you have any active disease (periodontal disease or cavities). On the other hand, it's important for you to know that we may not be able to whiten all of your teeth, as whitening cannot alter the color of fillings, crowns, or veneers, for example. If you come visit us, we can discuss the available teeth whitening treatment options.

If the treatment you have performed needs to be replaced within one year of its completion, you will not be charged for the replacement, except when:

  • Initial treatment was carried out as a temporary measure.
  • You were recommended a more suitable alternative treatment, and you opted for another one.
  • In the case of dental implants, if you were recommended additional therapy before implant placement, and you chose not to have it.
  • If you need a replacement as a result of trauma or accident beyond our control.
  • If it is not appropriate to replace it with the same treatment option.
  • If you have received additional treatments on that tooth since your initial treatment.
  • If you have had treatment on that tooth or others at another center.
